2. Acupuncture:

Used a complementary form of therapy for women undergoing other fertility treatments, acupuncture has been proven to be especially beneficial. In particular, studies have shown that acupuncture definitely increases the rate of pregnancy in women undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF). A German study done in 2002 ( Paulus WE, Zhang M, Strehler E, El-Danasouri I, Sterzik K. Influence of acupuncture on the pregnancy rate in patients who undergo assisted reproduction therapy. Fertil Steril. Apr 2002;77(4):721-724) showed that of the 80 women who underwent IVF and received acupuncture, 34 women got pregnant, a success rate of 42.5%. Of the 80 women involved in the study who did not receive acupuncture, only 21 (26.3%) became pregnant. Moreover, another recent American study involving 114 women showed that 51% of those who had IVF became pregnant as compared to only 36% of the women who had IVF alone. Acupuncture on the day before and morning of embryo transfer has been proven to increase implantation rates. See the website below:
